George Downey is a Power Electronics Design Engineer at AmpX Technologies, Inc. He has worked at the U.S. Naval Academy’s Satellite Lab where he worked on designing CubeSats for student projects and at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center where he helped design a model of future lunar missions using machine learning.
He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park with a specialization in microelectronics. His main fields of interest include electric vehicle power systems, renewable energy systems, and satellite design. George’s work on the PSAT1U CubeSat at the Naval Academy was published in the Radio Amateur Satellite Corporation (AMSAT) Journal.
